Job Description: Data Science Training Specialist
Role Overview:
The Data Science Training Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs and materials for data science professionals within the Information Technology (IT) department. This role requires a deep understanding of data science concepts, tools, and techniques, along with excellent instructional and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and deliver training programs for data science professionals to enhance their skills and knowledge in data science methodologies, algorithms, and tools.
2. Create and update training materials, including presentations, handouts, exercises, and assessments, to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
3. Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars in both classroom and virtual settings, catering to various learning styles and skill levels.
4. Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify training needs and trends in the data science field, incorporating the latest advancements and best practices into training programs.
5. Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback, making necessary adjustments to continuously improve training materials and delivery methods.
6. Provide individual coaching and support to data science professionals to reinforce learning and troubleshoot challenges.
7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in data science, and incorporate them into training programs as appropriate.
8. Collaborate with the HR and IT teams to identify and address skills gaps in the data science workforce, contributing to talent development and succession planning initiatives.
9. Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant progress, and training outcomes to assess program effectiveness and support reporting requirements.
10. Adhere to company policies, standards, and ethical guidelines while executing training initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related discipline.
2. Proven working experience as a Data Science Trainer, Data Science Instructor, or in a similar role focused on training data science professionals.
3. Strong knowledge of data science concepts, algorithms, statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analytics.
4. Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science, such as Python, R, or SQL.
5. Familiarity with popular data science libraries and frameworks, such as TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or Spark.
6. Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to deliver engaging and informative training sessions to diverse audiences.
7. Demonstrated ability to design and develop effective training materials, including presentations, handouts, exercises, and assessments.
8. Experience with instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
10. Proactive approach to staying current with industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in data science.
